It was a very loving family. I create art through the lens of being the daughter and the granddaughter of southern women and listening to their stories, their struggles, their sacrifices, their desire for freedom under Jim Crow segregation, their stories for freedom as they were struggling in relationships where they were mistreated. These experiences color just about everything that I do. My practice is very much about giving voice to Black women, and particularly giving voice to Black women in the struggle for equality by highlighting the leadership and the labor of Black women—the under-acknowledged leadership of Black women in the Civil Rights Movement, for example, or looking at illnesses that strike Black women in higher incidences than they do other female populations in this country.

These themes are also colored by the experience of the women in my family. My work very much centers the lives of Black women. Even in this time of COVID, the work of women of color is not really being talked about in the media. We are on the front lines in so many ways battling this disease, from Black women mayors in this country who are fighting for policies for federal dollars for their cities.

Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot who was one of the first mayors to really talk about the racial disparities and how COVID is devastating Black communities in Chicago, and San Francisco mayor London Breed established early restrictions, shelter in place orders, and social distancing to keep San Francisco and the Bay Area safe. As part of her training on Taris Jedi Enclave , she was tasked to exorcise the spirit of Kalatosh Zavros. Kalatosh, a Jedi -turned- Revanchist and later Sith Lord , was related to her by blood. Therefore, the elusive spirit only manifest himself to his great-granddaughter via Force bond. Unfortunately, Ashara's unique ability to summon Kalatosh draw the attention of Lord Kallig , an exiled Sith lord who recently lost his apprentices to Darth Thanaton. In a desperate bid, Kallig corroborated with a group of Sith assassin to flush her out into open and coerced her into his service, allegedly utilized Darth Angral 's holocron in the process.

Ensnared by the Dark side, Ashara failed to resist Kallig's thrall, which resulted in the deaths of her masters. Driven by guilt, Ashara banished herself from the Jedi Order and join the Sith Lord, who had taken pleasure in complete her indoctrination to the Sith. Zavros came from a long line of powerful Force users, including her ancestor, Kalatosh Zavros , a former Jedi who had been part of Darth Revan's Sith Empire , and who had died in Darth Malak 's bombardment of Taris three centuries before.

Learning the knowledge of the Jedi, Zavros managed to become an outstanding student to Master Ryen and applied the principles of the Code to her satisfaction.

However, she was dissatisfied with the situation on Taris, and hoped for an attack against the Sith, because she despised the approach of the Empire. In Zavros' case, the Masters brought her to Taris for two reasons: first, to teach her compassion amidst the destruction that had occurred there and warn against the dangers of pride and the dark side.

Second, to complete her trials by helping to drive a dark ghost from the ruins of a Jedi enclave. At the same time, Kallig , a recently promoted Lord of the Sith, reached Taris and went on the search of the Jedi, as the powerful Sith Lord learned from Elios Maliss that Zavros was descended from a powerful spirit. In order to defeat Darth Thanaton , Kallig decided to find Zavros, and bind the spirit of her ancestor. While Kallig was on the search, Zavros was assigned by Ryen to a team preparing an attack against the Sith.

Kallig needed to get to Zavros, and learned of her traits through holocron records of her training sessions. In these records, Kallig deemed her lack of understanding and rash to decision are failure as a Jedi.

Moving to next stage of his plan, Lord Kallig procured a Sith holocron which will be the key to her fall. Rumours about its usages differed, while some suggested Kallig presented the holocron to unassuming Zavros, and it flooded her with dark side knowledge. Allowing Kallig to use this knowledge to bait her, much like Exar Kun did centuries earlier.

Other evidences suggest a much more sophisticated and sinister plan was enacted. Trading the artifact with fellow Lord Anathemos , Kallig enlisted a group of Sith assassins to draw Ashara out of safety. What would I say to those gatekeepers whining about content being too easy? I am here for the story. A training ground for endgame content exists in the form of flashpoints. The flashpoints in the game do get progressively tougher. And using groupfinder or joining a guild that works to help players progress.

There are options, and those who are interested in raids will seek them out. Everyone has different abilities. You might roll through every flashpoint. The next player might die seven times just getting through the first tomb on Korriban. Also, for some of us, easier content is relaxing and fun. The same way some people like a leisurely bicycle ride along the bike path and others train for the Tour de France.

If challenge for you involves very difficult gameplay, it does exist. Go join a NiM guild for raids. Go play ranked PvP.

Play another game. Why does everyone else need to play the way you play? Because you think they should? What gives you any right to dictate how other people play or who they play the game with? Are you the National Gaming Czar and nobody told us?

People who want to group WILL group. Hell, I remember being a kid and playing single player console games with friends. We found a way to play in a group because we wanted to. Even in things like class stories or KOTFE where it only progresses for one person, they can still come along and help.

There are multiple opportunities in the game for players to meet each other. There are social media sites where they can do the same. There are people who look for groups on the fleet. Bottom line? Anyone who wants to group has multiple ways to accomplish that at this very moment. If you force them to group one of two things will probably happen: they will do it and hate every second of it and not want to be there, or they will stop playing.

Which is more likely? Oh wait…. This is a game. There should always be open world PvP. Sure, if you want a mass exodus from the game in about a day.
